Bilingual client accounting administrator (future opportunity)

Job Summary

The Client Accounting Administrator provides administrative services to the Single and Multiple Employer Plans and does so in such a way as to enable the smooth operation and administration of the Plans.  This includes answering telephone inquiries and corresponding with the employers and members of various plans on such matters as coverage, admissions, terminations, beneficiaries, etc. 

The Client Accounting Administrator is responsible for preparation of premium reports , data entry for billings and reports, customer service, and verification of billings and remittances.

Qualifications

A minimum of 1 year of post-secondary education in a related field, such as Business Administration, Benefits Administration or Accounting is required.  A combination of required education and a minimum of 1 year related experience are expected

The candidate requires thorough knowledge of the administration of Health & Welfare Benefits and of the particular policies for each of the administered groups. 

The candidate requires practical knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping theories and practices.

The candidate must demonstrate a clear understanding of banking procedures. 

The candidate must have strong mathematical and reconciliation skills.

The candidate must have strong grammatical and spelling abilities.

The candidate must have good organizational skills and have the demonstrated ability to manage his/her time efficiently.

The candidate must have the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

He/she should be familiar with general office procedures, be able to use basic office equipment, have demonstrated computer experience, (i.e., spreadsheets, word processing, Simply Accounting, scanning and filing).

The candidate is responsible to work extended hours as requested, and or as required, to meet the job demands. 

The candidate must be able to maintain information in the strictest of confidence. 

The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively using tact and discretion, with all work related contacts in both official languages.

Experience processing electronic documents and correspondence is considered an asset.

The candidate must agree to do other related duties assigned by the manager.

Bilingual disability claims administrator (future opportunity)

Job Summary

The candidate is required to process short-term disability claims for payment, by applying established policies and procedures.  The candidate also provides administrative support to the clients, members and insurers and does so in such a way to allow effective and prompt processing of all disability claims.  In addition, the incumbent is to provide direct liaison with the Trustees, employers and the members.  He or she is required to provide information regarding procedures and claim status to the plan consultants and other company staff as needed.    

The candidate is responsible for preparing duty related correspondence, responding to client inquiries, administering long term disability claims, administering weekly indemnity claims, and preparing specific group reports on a weekly and/or monthly basis. 

Qualifications

The candidate requires a post-secondary diploma.  A combination of required education and a minimum of 3 years experience in the area of benefits administration is expected.

The candidate must have strong mathematical, grammatical and spelling abilities.

The candidate must possess superior communication skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with all work related contacts, orally and in writing, in both official languages.

The candidate must possess a reasonable vocabulary of medical terminology. 

The candidate must be able to extract and appropriately interpret information from medical books, insurer guidelines and group benefit contracts. 

He/she should have demonstrated ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet and database software and be proficient with the use of standard office equipment. 

The candidate requires sound knowledge in the concepts of benefits claims administration. 

The candidate requires familiarity with office administration procedures, and has the ability to adhere to existing company administrative and benefits claims policies and procedures.

The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and have the ability to maintain good public relations, both within and outside the organization.

Programmer (future opportunity)

Job Summary

The Programmer is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance of systems.

The Programmer prepares specifications and user requirements. The candidate encodes, tests, debugs, and documents programs.  The Programmer may assist programmer/analysts on more complex projects.

Qualifications

Programming knowledge of Speedware V7 and familiarity with the HP-UX operating system is an asset.

The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and have the ability to maintain good public relations within the organization. 

The candidate must have demonstrated abilities and superior skills in the following areas:

• Customer service

•  Identify and solve complex problems in areas of technical expertise

•  Handle challenging support situations in a professional manner
